Amex Platinum Streaming credit works for iTunes TV Shows
I was slow to reload my iTunes account with the recently purchased gift cards. This provided an excellent opportunity to test whether individual iTunes purchases would trigger the Amex Streaming credit without spending my iTunes balance beforehand. The Amex Streaming credit list only shows Apple Music though it seems to be working on other purchases
- Discount: Amex is offering a $20 monthly credit for specific US streaming subscriptions. It seems to be working for digital purchases at these services
- Cashback: Topcashback pays out on iTunes purchases if you open iTunes from a web link (View in iTunes)
- Payment: Amex Personal Platinum Card, iTunes Account Balance
Estimated Total: $19.99 – 2.72 (15% discount on iTunes Account Balance) – 1.84 (Amex Streaming Credit) – 1.39 (7% Topcashback on TV Shows) = $14.04
Improvements: You could purchase completely with the Amex Platinum Card and have $20 reimbursed. However since iTunes cards are regularly discounted by at least 15%, it would be better to spend the credit on a service that does not have such a discount
BTW Great series and worth a watch
Do test buys before a major purchase
